1) Hey Lindsey, let me say I’m a massive fan & I can’t wait to see you at the Metro in Sydney this Wednesday. It’s absolutely awesome you've come all the way down under so early on in your touring career! I've actually been linking the rest of the BITE BACK team your videos the last few weeks so they’re a bit more clued up now on what you’re all about, but for those in the BITE BACK community that don’t yet know can you tell us about your music in your own words?

Thank you Annette; I’m really excited to be here as this is my first trip to Australia! I consider myself a crossover artist; in other words, I play a classical instrument but I play popular music, and I dance and play at the same time. My career really took off because of Youtube, so creating something visually entertaining as well as musically fulfilling was my goal. Electronic music is my “bread and butter” so to speak, but I have also done a lot of covers (game music, Broadway favourites, movie soundtracks, pop music, etc.).

Band Family (re-post)

So my band…my band.  I’ve posted videos of them online, I rock-out with them on stage every day…but I’ve never stated how much I love these guys.  I think it’s fair to say that in terms of both musicality and personality, I couldn’t have picked better band members. Ironically, I didn’t even really pick them.

Several months ago, I needed a band for a show. The show was kindof an experiment…to see if a band was a “good move.”  These two random guys (Drew and Gavi), were recommended to me and I took a leap of faith.  I flew them to NYC, we rehearsed for two days, and then we performed a show at Webster Hall.

The show went amazingly well, so several months later when it came time to put together the tour, who did we call?  Drew and Gavi!  I honestly didn’t know them very well (considering that I had only spent three days total with them), so I hoped that they were as kind-hearted and respectful as I thought they were, and that I would be able to connect with them..

Well…I lucked out on both accounts. For example, on the first day of our tour, Gavi jumped on the bus with his coffee and sat down next to me. “Oh, man, I love my coffee…” he beamed.  Suddenly his eyes widened, he turned his head to look at me, and said in a worried voice, “Oh dear…can I drink this in front of you?  I’m sorry….” (I don’t drink coffee.)  I laughed and told him that “of course,” he could drink it.  Needless to say, both Drew and Gavi have been extremely respectful of me and my standards.

As far as my concern regarding a connection with my band…omg, we have so much fun together!  They are constantly making me laugh and they “got my back” if I need them.  :)

We even have this joke where I call them “my girls.”  Whenever i say that, Drew and Gavi immediately turn into “Becky” and “Saundra,” and they start talking in their “valley girl” voices.  It gets me every time…I just die laughing!

Everyone keeps asking me if I’m excited to have a break from touring, but honestly…the elements of meeting fans and performing, combined with the privilege of hanging out with Drew and Gavi all the time…heck, I want to stay on the road for the next year!  It’s also been great to have my friend Mckay touring with us as the opening act, and it’s been so awesome to have one of my bff’s Whitney as the merchandise manager on the road.  We are one giant family!  I feel like only fate could have brought us all together because we are such a motly crew, but man, I love these people!

Sejarah Masjid Agung Palembang

     Palembang – biasa disebut Masjid Agung Palembang oleh Masyarakat Palembang, nama lengkap masjid ini adalah Masjid Agung Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II. dibangun pada tahun 1738 oleh Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin I Jayo Wikramo. dulunya masjid ini bernama masjid Sultan, sebagai bentuk penghargaan kepada Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin I sebagai pendiri nya. Masjid Agung berada di kelurahan 19 ILIR Palembang di persimpangan Jalan Merdeka dan Jalan Jendral Sudirman tepat di Pusat Kota Palembang. awal dibangun masjid agung ini memiliki sentuhan Arab, Jawa, China dan Melayu. tetapi setelah di renovasi Masjid Agung lebih mengadopsi Gaya Eropa yang beraliran Mediterania dan Timur Tengah. seni arsitektur Eropa terlihat dari pintu masuk di gedung baru masjid, yang besar dan tinggi. Sedangkan seni arsitektur China yang masih bertahan dapat dilihat di bagian masjid utama, yang atapnya seperti kelenteng.

Pemakaian Resmi

     Tanggal 26 Mei 1748 Masjid Agung resmi di pakai, dengan luas bangunan awal seluas 1080 meter persegi dengan daya tampung 1200 jemaah. sebagaimana Masjid masjid tua pada zaman dahulu, Masjid Agung yang dulu tidak memiliki menara.

Perluasan Pertama

     Tahun 1897, Masjid Agung mengalami perluasan untuk pertama kali nya, wakaf dari Sayid Umar bin Muhammad Assegaf Altoha dan Sayid Achmad bin Syech Sahab peluasan ini di pimpin oleh Pangeran Nataagama Karta mangala Mustafa Ibnu Raden Kamaluddin

Pembangunan Menara Masjid Agung

     Tahun 1758 – 1774 pada masa pemerintahan Sultan Ahmad Najamudin, di bangun lah menara Masjid Agung yang terletak terpisah di sebelah barat, Bentuknya seperti pada menara kelenteng dengan atap berujung melengkung. di bagian luar badan menara terdapat teras berpagar yang mengelilingi bagian badan menara.

Renovasi dan Pembangunan Masjid Agung Palembang

     Mulanya perbaikan dilakukan oleh pemerintah Kolonial Belanda setelah terjadinya perang besar di tahun 1819 dan 1821. kemudian dilakukan pula perluasan pada tahun 1893, 1916, 1950-an, 1970-an, renovasi dan pembangunan di tahun 1970-an yang di lakukan oleh Pertamina, meliputi pembangunan menara sehingga mencapai bentuk yang sekarang. Menara asli dengan atapnya yang bergaya Cina tetap di pertahankan.

Perluasan Masjid Agung

     Perluasan kedua kali dilakukan pada tahun 1930. dan di tahun 1952 dilakukan lagi perluasan oleh pihak Yayasan Masjid Agung. kemudian tahun 1966-1969 membangun tambahan lantai kedua sehingga luas mesjid menjadi 5520 meter persegi dengan daya tampung 7.750 jemaah.

Pemugaran Besar Besaran

     Tahun 1999 dilakukan pemugaran besar-besaran oleh Mantan Gubernur Sumatera Selatan Haji Rosihan Arsyad, orisinalitas arsitektur masjid Agung kembali ditonjolkan.kondisi lingkungan dan bangunan masjid tampak lebih di permegah.sedangkan bangunan-bangunan yang menghalangi pandangan mata kearah Masjid Agung pun dibongkar.

Sejarah Monpera

Bangunan Monpera berdiri kokoh di pinggir Jl Merdeka, persis di samping Mesjid Agung. Ciri khasnya ada enam cagak (tiang) beton yang kokoh bertautan tiga-tiga di bagian samping kiri dan kanannya. Juga terpampang relief yang menggambarkan suasana pertempuran lima hari lima malam di kota Palembang melawan penjajah Belanda.

     Peletakan Batu Pertamanya dan pemancangan tiang bangunan pada tanggal 17 Agustus 1975 dan diresmikan pada tanggal 23 Februari 1988 oleh Menko Kesra Alamsyah Ratu Perwira Negara. Banyak juga pejuang meninggal sehingga dibuat tugu di samping jalan Tenggkuruk atau taman Nusa Indah .Untuk mengenang para pahlawan dalam pertempuran tersebut maka dibentuklah monument yaitu MONPERA.

     Didalam Museum ini kita dapat melihat berbagai jenis senjata yang dipergunakan dalam pertempuran tersebut termasuk berbagai dokumen perang dan benda-benda bersejarah lainnya.

     Sejak peletekan batu pertama tanggal 17 Agustus 1975 lalu, pertanda dimulainya pembangunan, Monpera baru selesai sekitar 12 tahun ke depan. Dari masa Gubernur Asnawi Mangku Alam, peresmian oleh Menko Kesra RI H Alamsyah Ratu Perwiranegara tanggal 23 Februari 1988 dilakukan pada masa Gubernur H. Sainan Sagiman.

     Biaya APBD Pemda Sumsel tahun 1980 hingga 1988 mencapai Rp1.181.351.800. Dengan biaya sebesar ini, tiap sudut Monpera dibuat hingga memiliki makna khusu. Inilah yang menjadi keunikan dan daya tarik Monpera.

      Masuk dari bagian depan, enam cagak beton bertautan tiga-tiga dibatasi jalan masuk plaza Monpera mengambarkan satu kesatuan wilayah pertahanan masa perang kemerdekaan. Terdiri keresidenan Palembang, Lampung, Bengkulu, Jambi dan Babel.

     Sedikit maju terdapat gading gajah besar (binatang penghuni hutan pedalaman Sumsel,red) terbuat dari batu pualam ditandantangani oleh Menko Kesra RI Alamsyah Ratu Perwiranegara. Ibarat pepatah “Gajah mati meninggalkan gading”, gading ini diartikan perjuangan pahlawan yang gugur meninggalkan darma baktinya bagi negara dan bangsa. Gading ini diarahkan simetris dengan lambang Garuda tempampang besar di Monpera. Diartikan bahwasnya kemerdekaan, merupakan modal dasar pembangunan bangsa.

     Bentuk bangunan secara umum menyerupai melati berkelopak lima. Melambangkan putih dan murninya perjuangan pahlawan. Tinggi gedung mencapai 17 meter, jalur tampak depan mencapai angka delapan, sedangkan jumlah jalur dan bidang mencapai 45 melambangkan waktu diproklamirkanya kemerdekaan.

     Ada juga beton dibangun menanjak ke atas di dua sisi, serta bagian gedung utama. Tiap sisi dibangun tiga jalur sehingga berjumlah sembilan. Diartikan sebagai “Batanghari sembilan”. Jumlah sembilan anak mengaliri Sumsel yang bermuara ke sungai Musi.

     “Ada juga dua relief dibangun di sisi kiri kanan gedung mengambarkan penderitaan rakyat pada masa Jepang dan pertempuran lima hari lima malam

Di dalam Monpera sendiri terdiri dari delapan lantai. Lima lantai bawah diisi dijadikan sebuah musium. Di lantai ini dipajang tokoh pejuang kemerdekaan. Dr AK Gani, Drg M Isa, Mayjend H Hasan Kasim, Letjend H Bambang Utoyo, Residen H Abdul Rozak, Kol Barlian serta Letjend H Harun Sohar.

     “Selain gambar tokoh pejuang, gambar semasa perang kemerdekaan, tokoh ini juga dibuatkan patung perunggu dari kepala hingga ke badan ,yang cukup menarik, pajangan senjata zaman kemerdekaan. Dari samurai Jepang, kecepek, pistol, serta senjata berat lainya.
Pengunjung pun bisa menapakan kaki hingga ke bagian teratas Monpera untuk melihat suasana Palembang dari ketinggian. Namun, tangga di buat dari lantai 6 hingga ke puncak terbuat dari tangga besi yang cukup curam. Berbeda dengan tangga dibuat dari lantai dasar hingga lantai lima terbuat dari beton yang mudah dilewati pengunjung. Tetapi, curamnya tangga untuk mencapai ke bagian teratas tersebut sebenarnya diartikan sebagai perjuangan para pahlawan untuk mendapatkan kemerdekaan.

    

     Di lantai dua, Anda dapat melihat 14 pucuk senjata yang sebagian besar merupakan hasil pampasan perang zaman sebelum kemerdekaan. Ada senjata jenis pistol, senapan, kecepek, ranjau hingga alat pelontar bom yang kerab dipakai pejuang tempo doeloe.
“Untuk keamanan bersama, senjata-senjata itu kita tempatkan di ruang khusus berdinding kaca. Hanya dapat dilihat dari luar. Ini tak lain untuk mengantisipasi ulah tangan-tangan jahil,” Naik ke lantai tiga museum, terdapat patung yang merupakan replika wajah dari keenam pejuang kemerdekaan asal Sumsel. Juga ada koleksi pakaian dinas baik sipil maupun militer yang dipakai keenam tokoh perjuangan dalam merebut kemerdekaan, itu. Lantai empat hanya dipakai untuk kantor.

Sejarah Sabokingking

     Sabokingking adalah sebuah makam kerajaan. Nama sabokingking ini berasal dari bahasa sanskerta. Sama dengan kerajaan Majapahit nama rajanya adalah Hayam Wuruk. Sedangkan Sabokingking di pimpin oleh seorang raja yang bernama Pangeran Sido Ing Kenayan. Pangeran ini berasal dari Jawa. Dan istrinya yang bernama Ratu Sinuhun . Pangeran ini memiliki seorang guru spiritual atau penasihat yang bernama Habib Muh. Nuh.

     Berdirinya kerajaan ini, berdasarkan ahli arkeologi diperkirakan sekitar tahun 1616-1628. Pangeran Sido Ing Kenayan ini merupakan penyebar atau pengembang agama islam yang ada di Palembang,Sumatera Selatan. Berkat perjuangannya, sekitar 80-85% rakyat di Palembang ini beragama islam.

     Sedangkan istri pangeran atau Ratu Sinuhun juga merupakan pembuat peraturan-peraturan Simbur Cahaya. Artinya adalah salah satu peraturan hukum-hukum adat yang ada di Sumatera Selatan ini. Karena pada zaman dahulu belum ada hukum pidana,hukum perdata, dan hukum-hukum seperti yang ada saat sekarang ini.

     Yang ada pada Simbur Cahaya adalah hukum adat. Hukum adat ini berisi tentang cara-cara kaum wanita dan laki-laki melakukan pernikahan, melakukan perbuatan-perbuatan yang dilarang oleh agama, dan tradisi-tradisi lainnya. Apabila ingin lebih jelas lagi, lihat prasasti yang telah disahkan dan diakui oleh pemerintah, ahli-ahli arkeologi, dan Negara yang ada di depan.

     Setelah Pangeran ini wafat, digantikan oleh anaknya yang bernama  Pangeran Sido Ing Rajek yang kuburannya ada di Sako Tigo, Indralaya. Dan setelah masa jabatan keturunan-keturunan ini berakhir, sekitar 150-200 tahun muncullah Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin, jadi SMB itu dibawah dari kerajaan Sabokingking ini. Diatas Makam Sabokingking ini adalah Bukit Besar yang lebih condong ke agama Hindu.

     Pada kerajaan ini, sebelum Raja Aryo Damar menjadi penganut islam, disana dulu sebagai pusat agama Hindu yaitu yang bernama Shakyakirti dan Dharmapala. Jadi, sampai sekarang Shakyakirti dan Dharmapala namanya di abadikan. Setelah Aryo Damar masuk islam, maka berubahlah nama beliau menjadi Abdilla . Karena orang Palembang menyebutnya Aryodilla, itulah sebabnya ada jalan yang namanya Aryodilla.

     Akhirnya, kerajaan Sriwijaya muncul. Setelah itu, Sriwijaya runtuh masuklah Sabokingking ini dan menyebarkan agama islam. Akhirnya berkuranglah penganut-penganut agama Hindu dan yang terbanyak agama islam, termasuklah rajanya yang bernama Aryo Damar tadi memeluk agama islam.

     Dan yang dapat dibuktikan oleh ahli arkeologi, sebelum Aryo Damar menjadi islam, terdapat kuburan-kuburan yang menghadap ke arah timur,utara,selatan. Setelah Aryo Damar masuk islam, kuburan-kuburan pun akhirnya menghadap kiblat (barat) bagi orang-orang yang beragama islam.

     Kompleks Makam Sabokingking juga terdapat di dalam kawasan PT Pusri. Tokoh yang dimakamkan di kompleks ini antara lain Pangeran Sido Ing Kenayan (1630-1642 M). Sido Ing Kenayan adalah Raja Palembang yang menggantikan pamannya, Pangeran Sido Ing Puro (1624-1630 M) dan kedudukannya kemudian digantikan oleh sepupunya, Pangeran Sido Ing Pasarean (1642-143 M). 

     Makam ini berdampinngan dengan makam istri Pangeran Sido Ing Kenayan, yaitu Ratu Sinuhun. Di samping itu, terdapat pula makam guru agama raja, Habib Muhammad Imam Alfasah yang berasal dari Arab. Hingga kini, Ratu Sinuhun diyakini sebagai penulis kitab Simbur Cahaya. Kitab ini sering pula disebut Undang-undang Simbur Cahaya, yang isinya norma hukum adat. 

     Ada pula keyakinan, Simbur Cahaya adalah pengesahan hokum adat (lisan) yang pada masa itu berlaku sudah berlaku pada masyarakat pedalaman Sumatera Selatan. Simbur Cahaya, pada dasarnya memang mengatur rakyat di luar Palembang atau dikenal dengan istilah uluan. Aturan adat ini berlaku hingga ratusan tahun sampai UU No. 5 Tahun 1979 berlaku efektif di Sumatera Selatan. Sebelumnya, Simbur Cahaya terdiri atas lima bab ini juga telah membentuk pranata hukum dan kelembagaan di Sumatera Selatan. 

     Sebuah batu diduga peninggalan Kerajaan Sriwijaya ditemukan di pemakaman Sabokingking, Palembang. Batu ini mirip bagian puncak bangunan candi atau stupa.

     Batu berbentuk segi empat, berukuran 74 cm x 74 cm x 26 cm itu dalam posisi empat tingkat. Setiap sudutnya terdapat lubang sedalam 5 cm. Batu ini ditemukan sejumlah pekerja yang tengah merenovasi pemakaman Sabokingking, makam leluhur Kerajaan Palembang (kerajaan sebelum Kesultanan Palembang Darussalam) di Sungai Buah, Ilir Timur II, Palembang.

     Menurut juru kunci makam Kemas Madinah Yahya (70 tahun), yang ditemui di rumahnya sekitar 100 meter dari makam, Minggu (5/11), Selasa lalu ketika sejumlah pekerja membuat lubang di belakang Pangeran Sido Ing Pasaeran atau di belakang bagian kepala Tuan Sayid Guru Muhammad Nur, tiba-tiba linggis mereka menyentuh benda keras. Saat dikorek secara perlahan ternyata sebuah batu.

     Lalu, setelah berusaha selama dua hari, Rabu dan Kamis, batu tersebut akhirnya dapat diangkat. Lokasi ditemukan batu itu sendiri tetap dipasang kerangka besi untuk tiang penyanggah makam.

     Menurut arkeolog dari Balai Arkeolog Palembang Retno Purwanti, yang sempat melihat batu tersebut, diperkirakan batu itu mirip bagian puncak bangunan candi atau stupa. Bila benar, itu artinya bagian penting dari peninggalan Kerajaan Sriwijaya.

     Apalagi diyakini bahwa pemakaman Sabokingking memang diduga dibuat di atas bangunan candi-candi peninggalan Kerajaan Sriwijaya. "Tapi kita perlu melakukan penelitian yang dalam mengenai kebenaran batu tersebut," katanya. Sementara batu itu sendiri kini berada di dalam Pemakaman Sabokingking dijaga Panglima

     Pada Selasa (1/11) malam, Madinah bermimpi atau mendapatkan petunjuk dari Ratu Sinuhun-kerabat dekat Kesultanan Yogyakarta. "Saya dibisiki dalam bahasa Jawa halus, yang intinya batu tersebut boleh diangkat, tapi tidak boleh dibawa keluar dari makam dan harus diletakan di dekat makam Panglima Kiai Kibagus Abdurrachman," tutur Madinah.

     Sementara sampai hari ini, belum ada dari pihak pemerintah yang mendatangi Pemakaman Sabokingking. Menurut Madinah, Walikota Palembang Eddy Santana Putra saat ini tengah berada di luar kota.

     Makam Sabokingking merupakan makam tertua para raja atau pangeran di Palembang. Di makam ini disemayamkan Pangeran Sido Ing Kenayan (1622-1630), Sido Ing Pasaeran atau Jamaluddin Mangkurat I (1630-1652), Ratu Sinuhun-penulis kitab Simbur Cahaya-serta imam kubur Al Habib Al Arif Billah Umar bin Muhammad Al Idrus bin Shahab, serta Panglima Kiai Kibagus Abdurrachman.

Dear diary
      Namaku Dinda aku saat ini sedang duduk (atau lebih tepatnya masih .-.) di kelas XI SMAN 5 pada program akselerasi. Mungkin ini adalah saat-saat paling menyedihkan dalam hidupku selama 1 tahun aku masuk di sini. Kenapa ?. Iya, karena ini adalah saat-saat dimana kelas XII akan meninggalkan sekolah ini.
      Iya, kelas XII SMA 5 juga memiliki program akselerasi angkatan pertama. Itulah yang membuatku sedih, ada satu hal yang hilang dari hidupku (bagi yang pernah atau punya modusan pasti tahu maksud saya ini)
      Ada satu orang di sana yang telah berhasil meluluhkan hatiku yang biasanya cuek kepada setiap pria (agak dramatis emang :"). Dia adalah cowok paling manis yang pernah kulihat seumur hidup (aku menyebutnya gitu biar agak dramatis, padahal dia emang yang pertama .-.)
     Aku mulai terpesona padanya saat aku melihatnya, tepatnya ketika kami ditakdirkan duduk sebangku pada saat ulangan :$. Gayanya yang cool membuatku tak pernah bisa konsen dalam ulangan, tetapi malah terus melihatnya :$.
     Cintaku semakin bersemi, apalagi pada ulangan selanjutnya kami kembali "bersama" :$. Seperti biasanya aku selalu melihatnya, akupun semakin tak tahan ingin mengungkapkan cintaku padanya :".
     Beberapa bulan aku menahan hati dan mendengar lagu-lagu sedih hingga menangis sambil memikirkannya (biar mirip drama-drama korea gitu). Inilah saatnya kami akan berpisah. Aku ingat saat dia mempesonakan ku dengan Carbon Bromidanya (baca : "CBR"), dan saat senyum manisnya mengembang ke arahku, dan saat sir Jack berusaha men-"comblang"kan kami, dan saat dia memanggilku dengan panggilan sayang "Dinda" (baik, itu memang namaku -_-). Tapi semua itu sangat tak bisa kulupakan. Walau dia takkan pernah untukku, tapi aku selalu merasa memilikinya :').
      Besok, tanggal 23 April 2013 mungkin adalah hari terakhir aku melihat wajahnya, aku ingin merasakannya sebisa mungkin dan melihatnya hingga ia hilang di kejauhan.
      Aku ingin mengajaknya ngobrol, foto bareng, makan bareng dan suap-suapan (oke, aku tau sekarang aku memang agak mengkhayal -_-) tapi aku tak memungkiri kalau "AKU CINTA DIA". Ya, kata-kata itulah yang ingin ku katakan padanya. Aku ingin bilang, "Hey, aku cinta kamu. Kamu mau gak jadi suamiku". Tapi aku batalin setelah ngebayangin kalo teman-temannya bakal heboh disana -_-.
      Hal yang paling bisa aku ungkapin ke dia paling "Hey, Good Luck ya kuliahnya nanti. Cari banyak duit lho buat nafkahin aku nanti" atau "Semoga contekan kamu gak salah ya waktu UN tadi, jadi bisa lulus dan kuliah". Mungkin aku bakal milih opsi pertama.
      Finally, aku ingin bilang kalo selama ini aku baru menemukan cinta sejatiku yaitu dia, yap DIA (maaf, capslock emang sengaja di jebolin :p). Selamat tinggal pangeran hatiku, semoga kau nanti mendapat kerajaan cintamu sendiri (walau aku masih mengharapkanmu :") ). Aku cuma ingin kamu bahagia TITIK.
